I just thought of it...
What would XR do when Mira starts getting old? :< If we assume that robots live forever...
(lol, anyone here ever see Bicentennial man? X3)

oh my gosh I can't believe I never thought of this
That could be really... really sad. (And yes I've seen Bicentennial Man- IT WAS SAD.)
And... looking at it from the other view... who's to say robots DO live forever? Especially robots that are made to be destroyed all the time? Most computers become unusuable after a few short years... D:

oh my gosh I can't believe I never thought of this Honestly - I can't believe I never thought of it either. XD That's very true... maybe XR's the one to wear down first. ...This topic is depressing, why did I make it. :<

Well, because it's there and it's a real issue. :\ It might be sad, but... it's there.

Then maybe that's it. ^^
It makes me feel slightly less depressed, at least.
...does XR get an afterlife?

I always wondered about this, it's the main thing that worries me about robot/organic relationships... it's just has the potential to be too sad...
And as for an afterlife for XR, I don't know if this counts for ANYTHING (but in my mind it does) if you'll remember "Haunted Moon" where he's somehow manipulating the environment despite being completely turned off, no battery, no powersorce. What it proves, I don't know, but I feel like it should be worth noting, at least.

Oh, yeah!I forgot about that! I found that really eerie the first time I saw it... well, it's still eerie, but, y'know.

And don't forget Speed Trap. He seemed completely convinced that he would make it to the "afterlife".

What it proves, I don't know, but I feel like it should be worth noting, at least. ...That is an excellent point! How could he do that if he didn't have some form of a soul? Another good point! The writers seem to think so, anyway. ^^ So - what determines that he has a soul? Is it because he has a personality? Because he has feelings and thinks about things? (this could easily evolve into a topic of its own X3) “To me there's no object that can't become a personality." -John Lasseter-shrug- It's just the way we think. ;3

And don't forget Speed Trap. He seemed completely convinced that he would make it to the "afterlife". Ooh, yes! (That was cute x3) XR has a soal, this makes me happy ^^ And, about the whole machine wearing out point, they can replace any parts, so long as they keep his memory files, right? I mean, they replace parts on him all the time when he gets blown up. So, technically, he could live forever, if he wanted to. (I wrote a short fanfic scene where an old robot explains this to him, but it was depressing)

Hey, who even knows how long Tangeans can last? Maybe they live longer than the actual BloSC humans, being that they are "more evolved" - or at least they seem to think so. :

You know, I've just always thought that Tangeans would live longer than humans, I don't know why- maybe because of the psychic nature of their species, it just... it seems to me that it would take longer for them to wear out.
...How come we never see any kid Tangeans? The only Tangeans we ever see are Mira's age or older... sometimes much older... What are all the kids doing?
